gunkspace is a research

collective.

We study how infrastructures are

co-produced through socioecological and technological assemblages.

We work across disciplines and media, often with collaborators.

Our current project, Bodemzorg Amsterdam, connects with community-based soil care practices in the Nieuwmarkt neighborhood of Amsterdam Centrum.

The area has some of the most contaminated soils and the least access to green space in the Netherlands.

This initiative is an ongoing collaboration with the residents of Nieuwmarktbuurt, De Ruijtergaard community garden, Afval naar Oogst, Wageningen University, AMS Institute, and Gemeente Amsterdam.

All outputs of our process are open source.
